Expect some delays on the M1 North as the Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) begins resurfacing the road on the Smit Street off-ramp near Braamfontein. JRA said that the resurfacing programme would focus on deep patching the road to prevent and repair potholes and pavement cracks.
The temporary road closure began today (January 22) and will end on Tuesday, January 28. “The closure will take place outside of peak hours reduce traffic congestion,” the JRA said.
It will run daily from 09:30 to 15:00 on weekdays and 09:30 to 16:00 over the weekend. - Zoë van Rooyen
