Home Affairs Minister Aaron Motsoaledi has committed to the establishment of a one-stop border at Beitbridge by 2024 – with promises that eSwatini, Mozambique, Lesotho and Botswana will follow, according to a report by Bloomberg.
He said private companies would bear the costs.
The recent African Continental Free Trade Area is all about breaking down barriers and facilitating free trade in the region. The upgrade is one of four projects to which President Cyril Ramaphosa committed when he assumed the chairmanship of the African Union.
