The Ports Regulator SA has called on prospective service providers to submit bids to provide professional services, conduct an assessment of the determination of performance standards in SA terminals based on design and installed capacities, and develop a model (non-simulated performance) for assessing set performance targets with the aim of improving terminal efficiencies.
This is welcome news for the freight industry which has been battling delays and congestion – exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic.
A compulsory virtual briefing session was held on April 23 and May 19 is the final deadline for submissions.
