Plans for a new purpose-built industrial and logistics park in Ndola are well advanced, according to Phesto Musonda, chairman and CEO of Mitchell Cotts Zambia.

Ndola is the gateway to the Congo and is geographically very well placed for manufacturers and distributors serving the broader SADC region, but “there is no proper multi-user logistics park in the city,” he says.

He recently purchased Mitchell Cotts to provide the logistics backbone to the Sub-Sahara Gemstone Exchange Industrial Park, which is owned by Musonda.

Work on clearing the land is expected to start early in 2018.

“We will start with the logistics hub first, followed by manufacturing facilities,” he says.
