Mossel Bay plant fails to meet expectations

The flagship Mossel Bay gas-to-liquid plant could run out of supplies by 2017, national oil company PetroSA told Reuters. The $1-billion offshore drilling campaign only yielded 10% of what was expected.

The campaign was stopped after three of the five wells were able to yield 25 billion cubic feet, a fraction of the 242 billion cubic feet that was originally expected.
