The basis for calculating Zambian customs duty is cost, insurance, and freight (CIF). There are three types of import duties: customs duty, import excise, and import VAT. According to World Integrated Trade Solution (WITS), the Effectively Applied Tariff Weighted Average (customs duty) for Zambia is 3.39%.
The Most Favoured Nation (MFN) Weighted Average tariff is 7.44%.Commercial documents such as a bill of lading, air waybill, and commercial invoice are required to clear goods with customs. CE 20 is the standard form for entry and exit.The Zambia Revenue Authority (ZR A) uses the Asycuda system for paperless customs clearance and domestic tax processes.
