Driven by the demand for the movement of essential commodities and other supplies worldwide, airlines have put in the hard yards to keep cargo flying.
Along with several other carriers, Emirates has deployed passenger aircraft as freighters - and more recently modified 10 of its aircraft by removing Economy Class to allow for additional cargo capacity.
It also operated 500 flights with cargo loaded in the overhead bins, on the passenger seats or on the floor of the passenger cabin of its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
Between April and June 2020, it operated more than 10 000 cargo flights to destinations across six continents, according to divisional senior vice president, Nabil Sultan.
